Oasis in the Overwhelm - News and Events

Seminar to help fathers with daily challenges
Oxford Observer - (December 2, 2005)

Millie Grenough, author of OASIS in the Overwhelm: 60-second strategies for balance in a busy world and President of Grenough LLC, a New Haven-based coaching and training center, is in the process of writing a book especially for Busy Parents.

On Tuesday, November 15th Millie met with eight mothers to gather ideas for her new book. The gathering was very successful and several of the women expressed interest in having a night just for fathers.

The gathering of dads will take place on Tuesday, December 6th at 7:00 pm at the home of Peter O'Connell, 3 Old Country Road, Oxford.

The night will start off with a lively discussion about things such as: What are the things that are most difficult for you? How do you give yourself refuge/oases? What are some very specific needs that you think should be addressed? What are your favorite and least favorite things about being a parent?

Grenough will also demonstrate a few of the OASIS Strategies she writes about in her most recent book. The book provides quick and practical methods to manage stress and balance in this fast-paced world.

In addition to being an author, Grenough specializes in Peak Performance Coaching and Life Enhancement for individuals and groups. She is an international workshop presenter, a Clinical Instructor in Social Work of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine, a motivational speaker and Rubenfeld Synergist.

Grenough has a passion for stimulating people to reach full potential while remaining sane and healthy. She has successfully worked with clients as diverse as accountants, athletes, CEOs, financial managers, nurses, performers, prison inmates, university deans, and teams from large and small organizations in Latin America, Europe and the USA.

Known for her ability to inspire people to do what they thought was impossible, Grenough has taught non-singers to sing and shy speakers to present confidently in public.

Grenough said "Coaching is to help you get a life that is more satisfying. A life coach is almost like a personal trainer for your life: you see what your strengths are, what your weaknesses are, what your goals are and you hone them to make them more specific. People will say 'I want my life to be better, I want my body to feel better,' and that's all tall order if you don't know where to start. As a coach, I work with you to achieve your goals."
